Find Ancestors

Hi Guys a year or so ago you were all very helpful to me and I am ashamed to say I have not done anything for nearly a year. But now my wife and I are thinking of going to Scotland in the next year or so , so I have been told by her indoors to get back on her family tree. So here goes
My wifes G/G/Grandparents were Thomas and Elisabeth, Thomas born 1818 /1820 in Forfarshire and Elisabeth born 1817 in Forfarshire. They were married in Dun, Angus, Scotland on 15/12/1843.I believe they had four children, David, James,William and Andrew. Although I am interested in all 4 my wifes line is through James, born 1847/1848 in Dun. He married Isabella Thompson in Lyttleton, NZ in 1880. Isabella was born 1847 in Banffshire. I am not sure when they came to NZ or if they came together.
I am sorry for going on so long but I really need more info both forward and backwards about Thomas and Elisabeth

Perhaps you can trace them coming in from the New Zealand records

Have you found the, together on any census .dont know if New Zealand census show arrival years . ( know Canadian ones do but that won't help your enquiry!!)

You can check Scotlands People to see if there is a marriage

It's not a subs site .you can do a free search but have to purchase units to download the cert

Do you know who Isabella's parents were as there's several with the same nane born same year and area

They didn't marry till 1880 Ericka

Both born c1847 so Can't be the right family

Although I realise that a lot of the information has been covered before it is surprissing how a little bit can always be obtained in talking.I will be following uo the NZ connections over here but it is the Scotish side I am having problems with.
