Does none of the family know where he was buried?

Have you tried contacting the School for the Deaf in Bristol where I belive he had been headmaster - perhaps someone there might know?

Als the local newspaper for the area may well have mention of his death and funeral as he was a prominant member of society in the area?

The local library for the area may well have copies of the local newspapers and might be willing to look through for you as you have the date of his death - they may charge a small fee.

Contact the parks and cemetery dept of the local council giving them the details from the death cert

The councils run local cemeteries and crematoriums and keep excellent records

They may charge though for a search fee as many councils have had an increase in enquiries by folks doing genealogy so it takes up their time

Have a look here for cemeteries and crematoria in Bristol. I'm sure someone there could help since you have the exact date of death:-

Erika

That's why I recommend contacting the local council

I was given the details of the common grave my paternal grt gran was buried in 1907

We met the cemetery supervisor at the cemetery and he took us to the grave site

He also had big ledgers in the cemetery office and asked if we wanted the names of the other 7 in the same grave . I declined as they weren' related .
This was in south east London

Also got the grave details in my local area of Kent for a distant relation who died in 1921 this was local council run cemetery too

There is also another possibility to consider - that he may have been laid to rest in Scotland.

My father was buried in the town of his birth - not the one where he died.

Strange that Probate was granted to Lily's sisters while she was alive

Yes I thought it strange that Lily wasn't mentioned maybe she had dementia as she was in a nursing home.
I have looked on Ancestry but that person doesn't have a death for him

I have emailed the Bristol cemeteries to see if they can help, I live in Western Australian
