Please could I ask for assistance in establishing the parentage of the above man.

An Agricultural Labourer - the area is Hammerton, Huntingtonshire. He married a lady by the name of Sarah.

Unfortunately, can't see the image of the marriage record, to see if father was mentioned.

There were no Bakers other than William's household, in Alconbury Weston in 1841, to give a clue.

EDIT: William's first 3 children in the 1841 census as posted previously by Argyllgran are Joseph, John and Charles. Are they named for his brothers baptised below, and his father?

hamerton is in cambridgeshire only 8 miles from huntingdonshire

Malyon is correct in that Hamerton is currently in Cambridgeshire, but googling comes up with this:

"Hamerton was in the historic and administrative county of Huntingdonshire until 1965. From 1965, the village was part of the new administrative county of Huntingdon and Peterborough. Then in 1974, following the Local Government Act 1972, Hamerton became a part of the county of Cambridgeshire. "

I think this is probably the William Baker from that Godmanchester baptism.
