Thank you , I did not see the first page - must be Winson Green prison in Birmingham. I wondered if there was an explanation of why he would be in the prison I did look for newspaper reports but could not find anything. Thanks for help.

H M Prison, Birmingham - per the first page of the record.

Nowadays called Winson Green.

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of archives, though - certainly not lists of all prisoners and their crimes:
