Find Ancestors

Hi,all. Looking for Henry,c.1841,Ireland and wife Bridget,c.1842,Ireland.

They appear in 1871 Census at Liverton,Yorks.with their 3 daughters.
I can't seem to find them again until 1901 at Middlesbrough.
I looked at a tree on Ancestry and it appeared to say they were in USA at that time.Like a few Ancestry trees there were blatent mistakes.E.G.Registered USA,1880 and then Arrived 1887.Obviously something not right.

There are quite a few Henry Cosgroves from Ireland in the census records of the USA.

You need to be sure all the records you have looked at are for the same person.

Dont know if that is who Terry is searching for but it does appear to be the " Liverton " Cosgrove's 1871 .

Thanks everybody.Bridget's maiden name was Payton,I think. A tree on Ancestry thinks she married Henry in 1861.
Another puzzling thing is that it also says Annie Cosgrove married in 1875 to William Lester at Whitby,and she was born Staffs.Still can't quite fathom it out.

Please forgive me for saying so but it seems to me that you are following info from various trees and going off in many directions, including to America and back and possibly including several different 'Henry's' in your search ?

Perhaps it would be better for us to bare this back to what you actually know to be a fact and what info you have about 'your' Henry and start off with a blank sheet?

Where does he fit into your family please and how have you worked your way back to him?

I agree with Dea, there looks to be more than 1 Henry Cosgrove married to a Bridget. If the census is correct, then that can't be their marriage in Dudley they would only have been around 11 years old!

The tree on ancestry that I looked at made no mention of Henry in US, but they had used the autofill on the address Yorkshire, putting it in the US.

The 1871 census posted records event place NEW LONDON Liverton Yorkshire

The 1881 census posted by safc records children William aged 9 and Kate aged 6 born LONDON NEW YORKSHIRE

Possible birth registrations for Kate and William (allowing for irish accent )

Hi,researchers.I feel I must apologise.I think I have been totally misled,not for the first time,by trees on Ancestry. I was working on
William Lester,c,1855,London,marrying a Annie Cosgrove.c.1855,Staffs.I have now found William,Ann and family in Middlesbrough,1911.Married for 38yrs,13 children.The nearest record for their marriage I have found was in Wolstanton,Staffs.1873. This record says William married either Ann Hassall or Ann Edge. Maybe I can work out their Ancestors from this record,now.
