Please help!!

Kate E Barlow shows on the 1901 census, born Deptford, kent. Living in Deptford, kent aged 6. She is living with her parents William Barlow and Amelia Barlow (nee ransby) who married in 1892 in Deptford.

I have searched birth records in Kent for Kate, Catherine, Katherine Barlow from 1890 to 1900 and can find absolutely nothing. I have also searched with all these first names and the surname of Ransby - nothing. I have searched 1911 census under all first names and both surnames - nothing. I have searched marraiges between 1901 and 1911 - nothing. I have searched deaths between 1901 and 1911 - nothing.

Did this child even exist????

any help would be gratefully received.

William remarried 1914 to Daisy Margaret Bullen born 1892 according to tree on Ancestry they had 7 children and in 1939 he was a watchmaker.
William died 1952

They also say Amelia Eliza died Heywood lancs 1959

Thank you everyone - I know that William - my great grandfather - shows on the 1911 census with another lady and in 1914 marries my great grandmother. He was probably still legally married to Amelia at this point. I also know there is a possible marriage for Amelia in 1919.

My problem lies with tracing Kate. She is not on the 1911 census. There is a possible listing for Amelia (often listed as Eliza) on the 1911 in an asylum, but no sign of Kate.

I cannot find ANY birth or death records for Kate.

Its a bit of a brick wall

Possible 1939 for the marriage that greyghost posted. I understand you are looking for Kate, Toni, but we like to look at all family members to see if anything shows up.
So far, I can find nothing for her.

William was an only child. He had a stepbrother George born 1884 and a stepsister Hannah born 1877. Amelia/Eliza had 5 brothers and sisters that I can trace. Only one other survived to 1901 and that was rosina born 1876 Greenwich.

Williams parents were Robert John Barlow and Mary Jones. Robert is on the 1911 census with his new wife and her children (williams step siblings) mary died shortly after william was born. Amelia parents were Henry ransby and Amelia Wyatt. Both were dead by 1911.

It is possible late was living with rosina in 1911. But I can't find a listing for rosina or a marriage.

So she did marry 1919 to John laws ?

Amelia Eliza Ransby baptised 2/9/1885 birth 15/2/1869 same as on 1939 register.

Greyghost. .Henry and emma have the same death registration number in the same quarter of the same year. I had also summised rebecca death was wrongly registered as rainsbury. Which after william, leaves us with just rosina unaccounted for. There is a possibility kate was living with her in 1911, but I can find neither on the 1911 census
Rosina may have married...I need to do a bit more research on this.

Mary..It is looking like amelia went on to married Mr laws. ..again I am pretty sure she was still legally married to william at this point.

Thank you all for your help. We may not be any closer to the answers, but it has highlighted some gaps in my research. We may get there yet.
