Sorry, I should have realised that the births were before the stillbirth register started. Unfortunately there would be no record of the other birth if it was a stillbirth.

I am almost certain that if the other twin survived for even a short time then the birth would have been registered at the same time as Megan's.

Posts I have read are disappearing from here!
I see that the Stillbirth Register only came into being in 1927 and so would not have been in use in this case anyway.
Thank you all

If both twins took a breath then both births would be registered.

Megan's birth is registered on page 569. If a twin was registered at the same time it should be on the same page or at least on the next page if the page was full. None of the other three births for Jones with mmn Davies in 1923 have the same page number as Megan so I think you are correct in thinking the other twin must be a stillbirth.

The siblings have died. My husband's mother was their sister. Can you direct me to the regulations on who can view the register?
With thanks

The still birth register can only be accessed by the parents of the stillborn child or if the parents are deceased then the siblings of the child can see the register. No one else.

Yes the maiden name was Davies .I think Gwen is our twin. We understood that they were two little girls.
Is this information from a stillbirth register and if so can I view it?
Thank you SO much

Twins were born on the above date. Megan Jones had her birth registered. She died on the 27th February 1923. Her death certificate gave the cause of death as "Twin".
There is no record of the other twin.
Having read threads here this morning I see that there is a register of Stillbirths and I didn't know this before. Can I obtain any further information?
With thanks
