Hi can some one please look up for a wedding of William Shaw and Catherine Smith William was born I Liverpool 1840 and Catherine Smith 1840 Sheffield they married in Sheffield 15 9 1863.i am trying to find Williams fathers name some one said in the family it might be Jeremiah Shaw who was born in the USA thank you

The only records I can see are the civil registrations.

Where did you get the actual marriage date?

The marriage date was given to me from an old relative

sorry think it should be 14th of September 1863

9 William Shaws of right age in 1841 in Liverpool. None has a father named Jeremiah

The specific date doesn't actually make any difference, as there isn't a parish record online for the marriage as far as I can see.

For the info you are seeking, you will probably have to obtain a copy of the cert

Thank you I had half the family saying he was named after is father William and the other half saying Jeremiah from America don't no were they got that from.
