I'm really stuck here. I have Richard Wicks - sometimes Wickes - who married Jane Jones in December 1850 at the parish church in Tetbury. I have the cert. Richard was my 3x great-grandfather. I'm looking for Jane's family. The marriage cert gives her father as William Jones who was a plumber. Jane's occupation was a stay maker. Jane was born in 1823 in Middlesex. The witnesses were George and Martha but the last names are very difficult to read. Martha may have been Bayers but George's name is anyone's guess. I'm desperately trying to find out more on William. I've gone way back with the Wicks family but William does not want to give himself up. I'm guessing he was born around 1800 because of Jane's age. I'd be really glad of any help or suggestions, please. |

Thank you so much. I really couldn't see the wood for the trees with this. I'll go back to it with renewed energy! I'm very grateful. |

But you can't see that baptism to see if William is a Plumber. |

"Plumber" is the one word that is clear on the cert. Maybe he changed occupations from time to time. |

Yes, that's them. Jane's family moved to River Row, Tredegar then she and Richard moved to Ynysybwl where he died in 1899 and she died in 1905. Shuston (above) is Sherston Magna. The Alice Wicks, above, was my great-grandmother. I've failed to find Richard's and Jane's burial place. I have both those death certificates. They are not in Ynysybwl or any of the surrounding cemeteries. Richard died a couple of years of years before Ynysybwl cemetery was opened. |

Is this the baptism in St. Andrew? Does it say where New Street Square was? |
