Thank you everyone, appreciated. We are in contact with Bridport council who will be visited next week, weather permitting.

Assuming this list is complete (as it says it is) , it doesn't look as if they are in St Mary's Walditch churchyard - but there's a link to contact the Monumental Inscription Co-ordinator:

http://www.opcdorset.org/WalditchFiles/WalditchMIs.htm

Of course, it may be that they are buried there, but no stone has survived. Still worth contacting the church.

Info on the Church - you may be able to contact them to ask if they have a record of burials or advise where you could get the information from

Whilst the Death occurred in the Bridport Registration District, do you actually know that Bridport itself is where they died?

The 1851and 1861 census shows them in Walditch, a village close to Bridport, which had it's own church.

Not all burials or gravestones are listed online.
You may have to contact possible cemeteries and churches directly.

Bridport Cemetery
Address: 11 Gundry Rd, Bothenhampton, Bridport DT6 4SE

From a Google search:
"Bridport Cemetery was opened in 1856 when St Mary's Churchyard was closed to new burials. "
