It would obviously be between 1920 and 1924 but I don't see her on 1921 Canada Census so I suspect it would have been before then?

I thought the Margaret Dillon Murdoch died 1929 was Sarah's mother but as you have said that Margaret was born1903

Who is it you're actually trying to find out about, Ian?
How have you worked back to Margaret?

If it's Margaret Dillon Murdoch, then she's not the person who died in 1929.

If it's the Margaret D Murdoch who died in 1929, then she appears to be Margaret Davidson Milne.

I assume that as you haven't asked about Charles, that you know all about him.
Tell us what definite facts you have about him, and then we can maybe work out who his wife was.

A tree on Ancestry says Margaret (nee Milne) had a daughter Jane Pittendrigh Murdoch 18/07/1925 in Bloomfield, New Jersey - and that record is on Ancestry.
No mention of a Sarah. Her husband was Charles Pittendrigh Murdoch, , who died 18/12/1991 in Pennsylvania.

Several trees have Margaret Monteith Gillon. None say when she died, and none mention a Sarah - only the three sons. They say that her husband Charles died 1954 in Seattle.

Hang on !!! - If Margaret's daughter Sarah was born c1892/3 as you now state above, then how could Margaret (the mother) have been born in 1903 and died in 1929 ???????????

I am totally confused here - could you please check what facts you actually have and post them for us all together Ian?
