Calling all Aberdonians.

My second Great Grandmother Died on the 7th March 1879 aged 79 years the widow of William Watson B. 11.03.1790 at Irvine.(he died on the 13th December 1871.)
I have found the below record which, I think is her. Does anyone live locally who could possibly visit Nellfield Cemetery, to see if the grave stone is still in place and if it holds any inscription. If so a digital photo would be fantastic.
If someone is kind enough to volunteer I will private message them with more information which may or may not be relevant.

Elizabeth Mackie - Birth unknown. Death Mar 1879
Burial
Nellfield Cemetery
Aberdeen, Aberdeen City, Scotland
Memorial ID 143783838

I live in Newcastle which is cold and icy so Aberdeen is likely to be worse.
Thanks Angus Watson

Repeat the search on https://www.deceasedonline.com/servlet/GSDOSearch

burial register summary
last name
Mackie
first names
Elizabeth
burial date
10 March 1879
authority Aberdeen City Council
location
Nellfield Cemetery (Aberdeen

Apparently there are 8 other burials in the same plot. They could be family or it could be a common grave.

Donald, Jane Ann02 November 1889
Donald, William Alexander08 May 1888
Watson, Margaret C15 December 1881
Watson, John15 December 1881
Smith, Helen31 January 1880
Mackie, Elizabeth10 March 1879
Watson, John (Infant Of)08 February 1877
Mackie, Thomas27 December 1873
McKenzie, Elizabeth Mackie30 October 1869

The dates are probably date of burial taken from the register.

Although I was happy to use some of my credits for the site, if you register & spend a minimum of £5 on credits you could view a copy of the entry. It might show the plot/grave reference (called Lair in Scotland?) which would help someone identify where it is.

Have you thought of contacting the cemetery to see if they are aware of a memorial?

Dear +++DetEcTive+++

Thank you so much for that info. It looks very promising. The forenames of the Watsons and Mackies appear frequently in my research. I will have to check to try and pin them down.

I have never used the https://www.deceasedonline.com/servlet/GSDOSearch site , it is new to me so thanks for that. I will have a look.

Thanks again
