He married Mary ANN Bates (Clark) then Sarah Warman im told he was a Marina who could have come from Ireland I have tried to find his parents but had no luck

Yes, I saw that 1898 marriage, but as I couldn't find either John Downey or Frederick Williams with a wife Elizabeth after that, that's why I said I couldn't find her conclusively.

She married Downey and am told his dad was Arthur but I cannot find him either
I can not see Matthew in 51 or 61 census just seems to have vanished
