He was in Ireland in 1910, so try the 1911 Irish census, which is free

Unless he married, he won’t have any legitimate descendants, although, on second thoughts, you refer to him as your ancestor, so you must be a descendant.

Who registered his death?

Have you found him alive in the UK?

This gentleman is my ancestor. He was born in 1884 in Secunderabad, India and died in the UK in 1964.

I have wonderful family notes written for me by his cousin; that cousin is my Great Aunt, deceased.

I know about his life and work from the entry on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Bayley_Butler
but I am now trying to trace his descendants, hopefully to find living descendants with whom I can share our family history notes.

Can anyone out there help me please?
