Purely as matter of interest, the man who wrote ‘In Flanders Fields’ - John McCrae - was born in Guelph. I visited his birthplace two years ago while staying in the town

Hi guys, so sorry I have only just seen page 2 of my thread I thought I had read all of the messages. Thank you so very much for all of your hard work, I have been still working on this and so far still not got very far. What I can tell you is Walter Charles has signed the birth certificate of my dad Peter Henry Birch in 1832 Lambeth and the signature on the marriage certificate in 1916 Guelph Canada to Louisa Mabel French is exactly the same hand writing so it looks like we have our Walter. So the Leighton Buzzard family is my match. I would love to find more proof that Walter came back to the Uk. I have also found a death and a grave stone in Guelph Canada of a Walter Charles Birch beloved husband to Louisa French in 1965. The mystery continues. Thank you once again for all you help

The address in 1945 is actually 18 Princess May Road on the image.

Oliver W and Kitty B Birch are together at that address up to her death, and he's there on his own after that, until 1954, which fits with the 1954 death I posted earlier..

He's definitely the one who married Cecilia Klimcke and moved to Australia.

He's not listed at 58 Zealand Road in 1939 ER, but John Christopher Klimcke and Maria Klimcke are.

Interestingly, Daphne ("Dophine")'s entry is still closed on the image Ancestry shows, although open in Ancestry's transcription.



Also, that throws the 1954 death into doubt, if Gertrude's widowhood is true.

But I don't see any likely death before 1939.
Nor any other birth 1888 +/- 2.
I think Gertrude wasn't a widow in 1939, even though she said she was.
