When do you think they were married? After 1951? What surname did Joseph use?

I am looking information about the wife of my 5th cousin George Lanyon please. George was born 1/12/1923 Pennsylvania and died 12/3/1958 New York. I do not need any information about George as I have it all but his wife, although I have been unable to find a marriage entry was called Mary, or at least she was named as Mary in Georges obituary.

I have a copy of Marys death certificate, in which she is named Beatrice Martino, from the certificate she was born 15/9/1919 Boston, Massachusetts, and died 18/7/1969 in New York. Also from the certificate her parents were Edward Garvey and Mary Thompson.

There are several other documents where she called herself Mary Lanyon or Beatrice Garvey Lanyon, these documents are to do with an investigation into her when after her husband George died her children, Joseph, Joan and Patricia were taken away from her and put in to care because she was not looking after them properly. Joseph was born in 1951 and is now deceased, date unknown. This document also states that she had 2 sons out of wedlock, we assume that Joseph was one of them, although he may not have been.

We have been trying to find any other ancestors, or even descendants of Mary/Beatrice for a few years, without success. The only other piece of information we have from her death certificate is that when she died she was living with her son Joseph at 745 9th Avenue NYC 10019, and had been living there for 20 years.

My cousin has been trying to find information about Mary/Beatrice for many years without success and I have tried to help recently and also found nothing concrete, we feel we are looking for a needle in a haystack and I suggested to her that I could ask you to kindly have a look for us, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes may see something we have missed, I have her permission to approach you. Mary/Beatrice is her Grandmother and all she is really trying to do is find ancestors or descendants for her Mum.
