Find Ancestors

Thru lines are based on the trees people have on Ancestry. They cannot be relied on as Ancestry trees are notorious.
However they can solve brick walls. Have a look into these other men - as an example , I have a brick wall so Thru lines have given me ancestors of a similar name in another place and I have researched them and found them to be wrong.
You would b e better off looking at your matches and checking out the shared matches.
You can now group people by adding a coloured spot - very useful indeed.

From this (found by Googling "Ancestry thrulines") , it doesn't sound as if you can put any faith in anything the "thrulines" tell you: It seems to depend on the accuracy or otherwise of your and other people's trees - not a good basis for trust!

Don't know what 'thrulines' are - (please don't bother to tell me) - but have you done your own research?

I have received the results of my Ancestry test. I have a question.

I have seven great paternal WAY ancestors. When I look 'Thrulines' it lists only 5 great WAY grandfathers. Does this mean my 6th great grandmother was 'playing away'?

Any thoughts on this please .......
