If their deaths haven’t been picked up then the records would be closed anyway

We need feedback if we're to have any hope of finding anything of any use.

Or married abroad, if the father was in the Royal Navy as previously suggested.

If Sidami's friend is correct in thinking there were sons as well as daughters, they may have been born abroad.

ErikaH Report 19 Oct 2022 13:43

That couple were in Smethwick in 1939, having had one son who died in infancy, with one closed record. And the wife re-married to become Wakefield

The mother of the children whose births we have found (only girls) could have been married before - or not married to their father

Ask your friend to tell you what she KNOWS to be 100% accurate.

ArgyllGran Report 18 Oct 2022 19:03

There seems to have been another daughter, Irene, born 1930 in Medway reg district, same as Ruby.

Can't see any other sign of her - at least not with both of her middle names for definite ID.

Not on 1939 - you know the limitations

Was the father in the Navy?

How does your friend know his wife was named Florence?

Any paperwork at all?

Sidami

Sidami Report 18 Oct 2022 15:41

Patricia is correct

Look for the births on freebmd................so that you have accurate info on which to base your request

Some of the dates you have given are inaccurate...........Ruby's is two years 'out'

You are fully aware, I know, of the limitations of 1939.........................

Which of the children is your friend's DIRECT line?

Are any of them ALIVE?
