I am trying to trace my family. My Fathers name was Stephen Leslie Merricks and he was born in Birmingham West Midlands, somewhere in or around Yardley. his mothers name was Alice (no maden name i am afraid) His brothers name is Tony and his sisters name is Pauline Lyon nee Merricks. I know one of his uncles played for Birmingham City as a goal Keeper and maybe internationally. And that My Great Grandfather - his Grandfather - had a violent temper when drunk. My father, his father and his grandfather all had very ginger hair. My Great Grandfather may have come to England from Ireland and they may have been Travlers. Any info would be welcome.
