Hi i'm trying to trace the family of my nan JOAN DAVENPORT. Her Mother was called Eleanor (Babs) and her father we think was called Claude Davenport. My nan was born in LUCKNOW India and lived in Bangalore. She went to Loretto Convent in the foothills of the Himalaya. She worked for the American embassy in Bombay(?) shortly after the war. I know she has a Brother called COLIN (he lives in Australia) and also a brother called PATRICK. They have a sister called ANN. We also have family in Canada. My nans father worked on the survey of India. They fled India after partition and went to South Africa, and then finally settled in Melbourne. My nan came to england sometime before 1956 on a short holiday, never to return to Australia having met my grandfather Alan Borthwick and they married. I know my nan had many many friends, we realised just how many when she passed away suddenly last year. They are spread all over the world. She kept in touch with many of her friends from Loretto Convent. So please if you are related in any way to her, or are one of her friends could you please fill me in. She is sadly missed, and i look at her photos of her life in India and Australia and wonder who they all are. And i would love to extend her family tree beyond merely her name. Many thanks Duncan Borthwick
