For over two hundred years my family appear to have lived in a 50 square miles radius ranging from North Newbald, east Yorkshire in the West , through Beverley East Yorkshire to Wawne, East Yorkshire in the east. I do not have, to the best of my knowledge, any living relatives with the suranme hardy other than my wife and daughter and would like to hear from anyone with ancestors with the name Hardy in this region of East Yorkshire so that we can perhaps make a connection. thanks and regards Graham Hardy, Hull |

Well Graham, my granny was Kate Hardy and was from the Kingston upon Hull area. I know that she had a brother who was a Master Butcher in Beverley and his name was Neville. As far as I know he and his wife did not have children..My Granny also had sisters, not sure how many but I know that one was called Sarah and another Maria (or Marya). My Granny's Mother was Amelia as was my Mother. Not sure if any of this helps. For myself I am a Kingstonian, was brought up in Hessle but for the past 40 years have lived in Lancashire (for my sins). Regards, Maureen |
