Elizabeth Report 1 Nov 2007 15:58

Hi Insley
My Wife Elizabeth's maiden name was Henson and her father told her that there was an inventor in the family who was involved with balloons and in inventing the steam powered aeroplane, and the perforated teaspoon (to make a cup of tea).
There is a lot of information about him on Google, showing he invented the hoe type razor(with the blade across the handle like all modern manual razors)
He was christened at St Mary Nottingham on 11.5.1812 parents William and Martha Henson.
I have traced my Elizabeth's Henson ancestors back to William Henson christend at Nottingham St Mary
on 29.9.1759 from which it seems that they were, very likely, cousins but I have not found the actual relationship yet.
Wiliam Samuel married Sarah Ann Jones in March 1847 at St Botolph, Aldgate,London.
I understand that this was shortly before they went to the U S A.

If you let me know your address I will send you copies of all the information I have.
If you have any information about the Henson family,
particularly at Nottingham St Mary, Farncombe and Golalming, Surrey or Wisbech, Cambridgeshire I should be very pleased to hear.
