Hi,My name is Edward Eccles,I am looking for any descendants especially children of my grand father Mr Harry Eccles who was born in 1879 and died 24 june 1959. Harry had a steam engineering firm 'Moorlands' Bramley road,Ravenfield in Rotherham UK.In his younger days he lived in South Africa in Bulawayo i have a photograph of him taken by S.C.Turner of Bulawayo S.A but i,m not sure what year it was poss 1905-10.Harry also had a contracting firm in Tinsley Sheffield, he also ran a public house called the Blacksmiths Arms in Naburn,York. This pub is still trading and is on the banks of the river Ouse.I know my grandfather had my father when he was 62 but i do not know if my father was an only child or if my grandfather had any other children in his younger years.Harry was married to a M.D.Eccles when he died and was living at 'Eden Mount' Edenfield Estate,Hornsea East Yorkshire. If there is anybody out there who recognises this name and Harrys businesses and could be a child of Harrys please get in touch. Many thanks Ed. |
