Has anybody any information on William Read Harringon, now deceased. He was born on 7th July 1907 and was proud of being the 7th son of a 7th son. He was one of at least 8 siblings and I know he had a sister Rose and a brother Ernie. His father was Scottish and in the Scots guards at some time. His mother was irish and her name was Margaret, I believe she was a nurse. His mother died around 1912 and his father not many years later leaving the children orphaned. I know he spent many years in care and foster homes and seems to have been closest to his brother Ernie. He ran away to sea at the age of 15 and spent some years in the Merchant Navy. Obviously he had a large family, but lost touch with them because of the difficult circumstances. I would love to hear from anybody who has any further information, as his family does not even know his mothers maiden name let alone what became of any of his brothers and sisters and their children.
