Daughter of Francis (Frank) Holmes & Doris Mabel (nee Bowers), one sister - Patricia Margaret (deceased). I was born and lived in Sale Cheshire from 1945 to 1965. Grandparents : Henry (Harry) Holmes & Catherine (nee Keefe) Henry Holmes was born 1886 in Cumbria and spent some time as a child in the Isle of Mann. He had two sisters :- Lavinia and Gladys. My undestanding is that there are still some relatives in the Isle of Mann probably descendants of Zipporah Callin (nee Trayes) and/or Eleanor or Ellin (nee Trayes) Bridsen (not sure of this surname). John HOLME born 1796 in Lancashire/his son :-Stephen Holme born 1831 in Hotbarrow, Cumberland/his son:-John Briggs Holmes born 1860 Backborrow, Colton, Lancs/his son:- Henry |
