Edward John Mitchell was born 23 April 1908 in Bramley, Hampshire and registered in Basingstoke. I have made contact with his siblings or their descendants but no one has any info about Edward after about 1940. Edward had lived in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire and during WW2 he was with the Beds and Herts 7th Battalionfrom 1939 to 1941 when he transferred to the Suffolk Regiment 9th Battalion he was posted on 4th November 1941 but I can't read where to. Edward was discharged 18th February 1942 'permanently unfit for any form of military service' so he was probably a sick man.I am hoping to find descendants of Edward. |
