WILLIAM LUCKHURST, Charing, Kent. In 1669 William Luckhurst was paid 2s 6d for bringing the church clock back from Ashford after it had been repaired. This is recorded in the parish records at Charing. There was a William Luckhurst(1636-1713) living in Charing at the time, married to Elizabeth Cooper. They had 10 children in the Parish, who were christened with the surnames Lucas, Lucast, lukehurst and Luckhurst. He is a prime candidate to be this same William. He left multiple desecndents in the area, all of which seem to have reverted to the Luckhurst Spelling.
