Dorothy Scholes My mother's name was Dorothy Ord, she was born in 1906 and lived somewhere 'up north'. Familiar names are Stanley, where my parents were married, - she married Alfred Dixon Fenny - Framwellgate Moor, Pity-Me, Durham city and Peterlee. Her mother was called Ellen Ord and she also had twin brothers. One called Andrew, the other twin died, I think within hours of being born. My grandmother 's maiden name was Brown and she married three times. She was also known as Angus and Straghar - no idea how to spell the name but it is pronounced Strafar. I know nothing elso about her but would be very interested in finding out more. |
