My name is Barbara Winifred Sanders and I am searching for the Sanders family who lived around Barnstaple, Devon, in the 18th/19th C. The dominant family names are Alexander and George, although I believe there was also a James. Alexander was an innkeeper in Fremlington in the late 1700's and had a son, also Alexander who was a shoe maker in Bristol. After his marriage in 1835 and the birth of his son George, in 1841, Alexander jnr disappears from the Census returns until 1871 when he was living in Wardour St. London and was a bootmaker. George appears some time in Windsor and then Camberwell. He was married to Mary Ann Chapman born in Lambeth and his eldest child was Grace Sanders born in Windsor in the 1860's. Any information regarding this would be truly appreciated. Thanks. Barbara
