I am Peter James Buller (b. February 1927) - my family hail from Norfolk - mainly from Calthorpe and Erpingham near Aylsham. I knew many of my uncles and aunts and have traced many of my other ancestors but cannot find if there is a link with the Sussex Bullers ( I was born in Westfield, near Battle) and never knew why father came to work there as a groom - ( for a short time only, following which he and mother returned to Norfolk). I always assumed the job opportunity came via a family connection or perhaps more likely, an old Army connection after the First World War, when he served in the 3rd. Dragoon Guards in France and Belgium. Any clues from any Sussex Bullers? pjb |
