Samuel (Tygn) Elder b1692, Northern Ireland DNA evidence suggests that I am almost certainly linked to this family and any help regarding them or their birthplace would be appreciated. Since approx 1800 my family have been in Newcastle upon Tyne and I am trying to trace the Irish link. Samuel married Mary Huston and they had a son, William, and a daughter, Margaret, before the family went to America in 1730. It is possible that Mary died young, or did not go to America because there is at least 10 years difference until Samuel’s other children were born, between 1739 and 1748. It is also possible that Samuel married a Mary Burissa Walker.
