I understand "Juggins" to also mean village idiot & simpleton. Would prefer to just stick to Court Jester though. |

On the subject of the name 'Juggins' Don't believe all you get from so called 'Heraldry' people. Some of the name derivatives are interesting but in actuality the name is a medievil word meaning Fool... in the apropriate times fool meant Jester and jesters were not the lowliest of servants as everyone supposes, mostly they were quite highly thought of in the best housholds and good jesters would have similar status to their earlier counterpart Druids. anyway just thought i'd be a 'fool' and drop that in.. |
