I am trying to trance what happened to my GT GT aunt. She was Julia Maria Burden born 1861 Shoreditch. She married a George Porter who was born middlesex london around 1863. Their children were Mary Porter bn. about 1883 Stratford Essex Henry G Porter bn. around 1880 Stratford Essex Joseph G Porter bn. around 1889 Suanna Ethel Lillian Porter bn. around 1883 Leytonstone Essex. I have found them on the 1891 census but can not trace what happened to them after that date. George Porter was a Blacksmith. Does any one have any ideas.

I am intrigued by your inquiry concerning George Porter, Blacksmith of Stratford Essex as my family of Porters (William Porter & Sarah Long) were also Blacksmiths and also from Stratford. They originated in West Norfolk (around Kings Lynn) and came to Middlesex between 1841 and 1851 and by 1871 were in Stratford were they resided until death. William was a Blacksmith as were his sons William and James. Unfortunately I can't f ind a George yet in the family but I have a feeling there must be a connection.
