My Great-grandmother was Honora or Hannah FITZGERALD who was said to have had five husbands. I have not yet found any marriage certificates for any of them. As far as I know the first one was James BESTON for he is the father named on her son's (my Grandfather's) birth certificate in 1878. She turns up on the 1881 census in Horsleydown, Surrey as Hannah BESTON still married to James and with children Hannah, James and Edward. Hannah and James both give their place of birth as Ireland. She is next mentioned as Mrs Honora WATERS, next of kin to her son Edward when he joined the army in 1899. with an address in Bermondsey. After that she was on the 1901 cencus as Mrs Hannah McCURTON wife of Hugh. 3 McCurton children are mentioned on this census who may have been Hugh's by a previous wife or Hugh's and Hannah's. Also living in this house is William BESTON, named as Hugh's stepson. Grateful for any info on any of the above.

have come across a honora fitzgerald in NSW australia who died in 1894. There are quite a few references to this person. Did she migrate? Check out the BDMs NSW site!
