I am looking for some information regarding my grandfather Charles Alfred Wilkinson D.O.B 29.02.1906. Said to have been born in Scotland but as a young man fought in WW2, afterwards worked as a Dustbin Man and went to live in Battersea, South London until his death in 1985 aged 79. He left 5 children, Charles Alfred Wilkinson Jnr, Joyce, Frank, my mum Brenda and Jean. It is has been a mistery in the family as to whether my grandfather had really been born in Scotland! The only link to Scotland is my aunt Joyce who married a Scotsman and went to live there soon after back in the late 60's. We don't have any real contact with any of my mum's relatives and therefore if anyone could shed some light on this it would been very much appreciated. Thanks Roselyn Atkinson (Thomas) |
