Hi Sarah, I come from the Isle of Wight and the Mews were a well known name on the Island. Try looking them up on the free search BMD on the Isle of Wight Family History Society website. Regards Pete

Sarah - my maternal grandfather was Frank Mew and he was born in Hove, Sussex. I understand that the name Mew originated on the Isle of Wight. I hope this helps. Mark D

Hi Im Sarah Mew from the wirral at the end of my nurse training. Can anyone tell me the history of the surname Mew and where it came from as there's not many of us around!!!! A big hello to all the mewsters out there!!
