I too have been tracing my Cowap ancestry for many years and descend from William Cowap born 1725 in Tarporley where many Cowaps seem to originate, I have a lot of information about my particular branch if it is relevant.

It was super to see a message from another Cowap member! I have been tracing my family history for over thirty years now, it is like trying to piece a giant jigsaw together but lots of fun! My family are from Merseyside , Cheshire around Northwich and local areas and Chester. Although most of my living family are female I do have one male cousin who has had two boys to carry on the name. I would love to hear from any Cowap member in the hopes that we can extend the Cowap family tree. Sue Higginbotham (nee Cowap).
