In February 1803 an 18 month old baby was abandoned in Antwerp, Belgium. He was given the name Henricus Geelbroeck, or "Gold Breeches" in Flemish, as he was dressed in yellow pants. His children emigrated to London in the mid 1800s and the name was changed to Gilbrook. This spelling is now used in the USA and Canada as well. If you are related please contact me.
