Hi Michael,
My grandfather Charles Colyer was born in Rotherhithe, but his family originated in Horton Kirby and thereabouts. Do you have anyone from there?
Thanks,
Pauline

About 15 years ago I undertook a fairly in-depth study of the Colyer name, at least tracing it back to late 1700's and found it based in Barham, Kent. At that time my distant relatives were tenant farmers. Naturally, the name has spread out as family moved to other parts of the country, settling down in North London (Cockfosters and Barnet areas), Devon, and Hertfordshire. If you would like to contact me, call me Mike. Look forward to hearing from you.
