BEVAN - JONES, Treharis, Mid Glamorgan, Wales I am trying to find relatives on my mother's side, from Wales - the Jones' and Bevan families!! I am particularly looking for relatives of my great grandmother and great grandfather. So far I have: Catherine Bevan, born c1882 MARRIED Henry Jones born c1878 I think I may have found Catherine's parents via the 1901 Census, I think they were John Bevan born c1851 in Fleurdelis Monmouthshrie, and Mary Bevan, born c1846 in Llantwit Vadre, Glamorgan. On the 1901 Census John and Mary are living at 5 Railway Terrace, Treharis with Catherine and her husband Henry. Both John and Henry were Miners. For Henry Jones I have his parents as Charles Jones born c1851 and Ruth Moon born c1852. He had about 3 other siblings, one of which I know was called Amelia c1876. However, this is word-of-mouth information and I haven't been able to verify it. Catherine and Henry went on to have many, many children. I can't remember how many but it was alot - about 10-14, one of which was my grandmother. They married in 1900 in the district of Pontypridd, Mid Glamorgan. I believe they stayed living in the Treharis area, Merthyr Tydfil. If there is anyone who think they may have a match I'd love to hear from you. I'm stuck now, especially with so many Jones and Bevans on the Welsh Census!!!!! |
