Trying to find Dalgliesh

I am trying to locate Edward Dalgliesh. He was born in (or around) 1851 possibly in Silloth, near Carlisle, UK. He married Christina Findlay on March 3rd 1878, in Silloth, and they lived in Wampool Street. They had children named as Robert, Joe, Mary and Robina. Edward was originally a clerk, but subsequently named his occupation as merchant seaman. For reasons unknown he left his family and disappeared from Silloth around 1898 or 1899 and was not heard of again. This gentleman is my great-great-grandfather and he left behind a mystery which has never been resolved. I would be grateful for any information which would enable me to throw some light on his life post 1899. Thank you. |
