I am trying to find any information on my gg grandfather James Bossons born in Alsager Cheshire in 1825. He married a Mary Lawrence from Audley Staffordshire and they had three children Thomas, Mary and John. Unfortunately Mary died at the age of 1 yr and John died in the mining disaster of 1866 in the Talk o the Hill Pit tragedy at the age of 12. Their surviving son Thomas married in 1874 and James occupation was listed as gardener, on the marriage certificate. He had previously been a butler to James Stamford Caldwell in Linley Hall Staffordshire until the death Mr Caldwell in 1858. I can find no trace of James or Mary after the 1871 census and have not been hunting for a couple of years to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction. It is possible they emigrated. Any help gratefully received.
