Hi there, Trying to find Mitchell's from Liverpool/Widnes. My great grandfather was Thomas Mitchell b 1886, Widnes, son of John Mitchell b 185 3 Liverpool and Mary. As far as I can determine, Thomas in the 1901 census was an inmate at The Barracks, Bury. He married Ada Hunt b 1896 Widnes. They had three children: 1. Timothy b 1916 married Gertrude Harris. They had 5 children: 1. David 2. Sheila 3. Barry 4. Maureen 5. Terry 2. Frances b 1918 married Tom (Thomas) Cathon. They had 2 chcildren: 1. Beryl 2. Christine 3. Gertrude Mitchell b 1924 married Jack Wilson. They had 5 children: 1. June 2.Keith 3. Diane 4. Neil 5. Sharon They emigrated to South Africa. I know that Tim went to Australia and lived there for many years, but returned to England before his death. If any bells ring, please contact me. Many thanks Tanja |
