I'm trying to find info re my Gt Grandmother: Rebecca Sloane b c1872 m Thomas Collins b c1872 Marriage Cert says banns called in 'The Parish Church' in the Parish of Halifax. Married 27th Nov 1893 by Minister Charles Osler. Witnesses were Benjamin Drake and Margaret Ann Sloane. At the time of the marriage Rebecca resided at New Bank Northowram. Her father's name was Thomas and he was a 'Boiler Maker'. Thomas Collins was a Private Soldier (Royal Irish Rifles) and at the time of the marriage resided at Steep Bank Side Southowram. His father's name was George and he was a 'Twister-in'. They had my Grandmother Ann (Annie) b Mar 1895 Halifax. After living in India for many years they came to NZ c 1910-1911 and had two more daughters - Phyliss,Doris ???? |
