Trying to find Dunwoodie

Posted by Rick (Richard) Burgoyne: My grandfather on my mother's side was Gavin Shanks Melville. He was Scottish and born 1878 +/- 1 year in Airdrie, Lanarkshire. He married Elizabeth Dunwoodie (also a Scot) and they had an only daughter (my mother) Ray Dunwoodie Melville who was borne in Montrose on 24th June 1911 and who passed away in 1998. Gavin Shanks Melville re-married after the death of Elizabeth to Violet (surname unknown) who I believe had family in Wellington Somerset and they lived until his death in Weston-Super-Mare. If anyone has any information on either my grandfather Gavin Melville, my grandmother Elizabeth (believed to be known as Lizzie), or my step-grandmother Violet (known as Vi) I would be delighted to hear from you. |
