hi i am trying to find my great grandma edith ratcliff/radcliff, she married victor slater,i believe they had 2/3 children one of those being my grandma jean slater, edith and victor split when my grandma was young, that was the last jean ever saw her mum edith, this was i think in the early fifties, all jean knows is that she belives her mum (edith) went off with an american soldier.
jean grew up with her mother in mexborough, south yorkshire, if any one has information please let me know, as i can't find edith on ant of the census

thanks sarah
