Trying to find Shepston

I am trying to find ancestors of my g grandmother Ruth Shepston who married William Evans. Ruth born 1857, died 1929. I believe Ruth has Shepston a brother that resided in S Africa. He worked on the railways and had at least 2 children (boys - one possible name is Horace), that returned to this country temp. during the Boer War. Ruth may have been born in Monmouthshire, S Wales or settled there from the west country. William Evans was a lay preacher. They had numerous children, the youngest being Stanley Ralph Evans. There is also a Louisa Shepstone link in the family but not sure where this originates from. Any information will be gratefully received. I have lots of info. on the Evans side of family going back to 1700's but would love to trace the Shepston route. I notice that sometimes the surname has an 'e' on the end and sometimes not which complicates things, For anyone who is able to supply details I can share photos that include Ruth and possibly others unidentified from the mid 1800's Alison
