Trying to find Slater

Hello, I am the great granddaughter of Peter Slater and Elizabeth Duffy who lived in North Manchester. They are shown in the 1881 census with two children: William (b. 1870c) and Maggie (b. 1874c). My grandmother was not shown on that census as she was born in the mid-eighties. I am working with the grandson of William on that side of my family history and we have two seemingly insurmountable problems. One is that we can find no identifiable trace of Maggie (Margaret) after she appeared as a witness at William's wedding in the mid1890s. If there are any of her descendants out there who can fill in the gaps in our information, we would be really grateful. The second is that Peter and Elizabeth only married in 1880. We would like to know more about this, although do not expect at this stage to discover the parentage of these two children, although we do know about their grandparents, on both sides, if either Peter or Elizabeth was an actual parent. We would love to hear from descendants of Margaret, if there is anyone out there, or indeed anyone related to this family. Look forward to a contact. - Pauline
