Johnny Cooke - Welterweight boxing champion I have just received a small bundle of old photos, one of which appears to be a professionally posed photo of Johnny Cooke wearing boxing trunks and a trophy/championship belt. I recall my late father (whose mother was a Cooke) mentioning his 'cousin Johnny' many years ago but I know nothing more about this man than he was born around 1936 in Bootle Lancs (from a boxing website). I am assuming that John/Johnny Cooke was boxing in the late 1940's or 1950's, obviously held some sort of UK/Commonwealth boxing title, but that's it. Any information would be most welcome.
