Trying to find Leary

I'm trying to find any information on Ellen Leary/O'Leary, she was the daughter of John Leary and Mary Barrett and believed to be born sometime between 1864 - 1868 in Victoria, Australia.
John and Mary both arrived in Melbourne, Victoria. Australia from Co.Cork, Ireland on the Ship 'Duke of Newcastle' on the 21 June 1864 - both single and unassisted passengers.

On the 4 July 1864 at St.Francis RC Church, Melbourne the couple were married. Their Marriage Certificate gives where they were born, who their parents were as well as their parents occupations.
So far I haven't been able to find a Birth Certificate for their daughter Ellen or any other children they may have had.

It is believed that after their marriage the couple moved to country Victoria, firstly to farm and later John went mining. It was at this time the name went from Leary to O'Leary - I have no idea why John did this, but he was know as John O'Leary up to his death.
His D.C. 30 November 1897 in Sydney gives Mary Barrett as his wife as well as a daughter Ellen, none deceased. Ellen was aged 31yrs. at the time. In 1897 Ellen was possibly married with children but to date I have not been able to find a marriage certificate for her.
Mary (Barrett) O'Leary died on the 21 August 1868 in Maryborough, Victoria from T.B. She had only been in the Maryborough Hospital 12hrs. prior to her death. Their place of residence at that time was Carisbrook a small Farming / Mining town about 7klm from Maryborough.

John left Victoria and moved into NSW about 1870, arriving in a small Mining town in the very north of the State called Vegetable Creek - now known as Emmaville. On the 5 March 1873 in Armidale, NSW he remarried a 20yr old Farmer's daughter called Mary Anne Ellis. The couple had (8) children in all, but only (4) lived to adulthood and married.
There was no mention of John's daughter Ellen, and none of the second family appears to have ever known about her.

So what happened to her, if as it was stated she was 31yrs. in 1897 - who raised her as it certainly wasn't her father and his second wife.
I would dearly love to find what happened to her, or perhaps find any of her descendants if there are any.
